St. Louis – A federal grand jury in St. Louis Thursday indicted two men on child pornography charges.
Prosecutors say that investigators found seven pornographic images of children on a computer belonging to Michael Gulley. Gulley was a youth leader at Grace Baptist Church in St. Charles.
Another indictment alleges Thomas Mantle of Barnhart sent e-mails containing similar images. Mantle had worked as a network support specialist in the Mehlville School District.
U.S. Attorney Catherine Hanaway said the investigation was part of a nationwide crackdown.
"The U.S Attorney General has made Project Safe Childhood, the prosecution of child exploitation cases, his top domestic priority," Hanaway said. "So it's also the top domestic priority of this office."
Hanaway said Gulley could face a maximum of 10 years behind bars, and Mantle could face up to 20 years.
The Mehlville School District fired Mantle in February after the investigation began.
A spokesman for Grace Baptist Church says Gulley was terminated in November.
