St. Louis – Detroit is the city best known for manufacturing cars.
But there were several car companies in St. Louis during the early era of the automobile.
"Shifting Gears," a new exhibition at the Missouri History Museum, begins Sunday, October 15.
It explores the automobile industry in St. Louis from 1890 to 1930.
KWMU's Maria Hickey spoke with project manager Whitney Watson about the vintage cars on display and St. Louis' contribution the automobile.
