St. Louis, MO – The St. Louis Zoo's baby elephant is going off display for a few days while officials try to figure out why she keeps losing weight.

Maliha has already been a huge draw for zoo visitors.

Officials say they don't have any evidence she has a disease or infection, and she's been nursing normally. The calf will spend a few days with her mother Ellie and will be under close observation.

The elephant was born Aug. 2, the second Asian elephant to ever be born at the St. Louis Zoo.
