Illinois clinics grapple with possible new abortion law

St. Louis, MO – In Illinois, young women can get abortions without their parent's consent or knowledge.

But in a surprise move last week, the Illinois Supreme Court revived a parental notification law that has gone un-enforced for 11 years.

Clinics in Illinois that offer abortion services have long been an option for young women from surrounding states with stricter regulations, such as Missouri.

But after years of worrying what other states were doing, those clinics are now focusing on what's happening in their own backyards.
