St. Louis, MO – A St. Louis police officer is recovering after being shot early Tuesday morning amidst a hail of bullets.
Detective Justin Johnson, 30, was shot in the shoulder; his partner wasn't hurt.
The two detectives, who are assigned to the department's anti-crime task force, had been following a car that was driving erratically. Once the shooting started, the officers were able to back away in their squad car, but damage from bullets soon made the car inoperable.
