St. Louis, MO – One lane of northbound I-170 was closed this morning (Fri.) and will stay closed for the next year or so.
Work is starting on a project to replace the bridge that takes 170 over Olive with a wider span.
New exit and entrance ramps also will be lengthened so rush hour traffic doesn't back up onto the interstate, as it does now.
The $25.9 million project is not related to MODOT's announcement Thursday that it will spend about a $400-600 million to repair 800 of the state's worst bridges by 2012.
