Group alleges voter fraud in recall effort

St. Louis, MO. – A group of citizens who support Third Ward Alderman Freeman Bosley, Sr., allege those working to recall him committed voter fraud.

Citizens Against the Recall submitted letters with the U.S. Attorney of Eastern Missouri, St. Louis Circuit Attorney, St. Louis Police Department, and the St. Louis Board of Elections Friday asking for a criminal investigation.

The group alleges several people on the petition to recall Alderman Bosley never signed it.

Last month the Board of Elections threw out more than 700 names in certifying the petition, but officials said they did not suspect fraud.

The recall matter is already tied up in circuit court. Those who want Bosley ousted are challenging the right to remove a name from a recall petition once it's been signed.
