St. Louis, MO. – The state will release its long-term redevelopment plan for Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park in two weeks.
Repairs have been underway at the park since Ameren UE's Taum Sauk Reservoir was breached in December and flooding destroyed most of the facilities and landscape there.
Sue Holst with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources says the redevelopment plan will include suggestions made by the public earlier this year.
"We do consider this somewhat of a clean slate to redevelop. But we also have parameters that we have to abide by," Holst said. "One of them is the size of the space that we have and the resources that are there."
The Johnson's Shut-Ins plan will be revealed at three open houses August 26th, 27th and 28th. They will take place at the park and in St. Louis.
