NTSB issues preliminary report on plane crash

By AP/KWMU

St. Louis, MO – Federal investigators plan to take a closer look at the engine and propellers of a plane that crashed last month near Sullivan, Mo.

The NTSB today (Monday) released a preliminary report on crash that killed the pilot and five passengers. Two other passengers were seriously injured.

The report cites a witness who saw the plane rise about 150 feet, heard a noice and saw flames coming from the right engine.

In the report, the NTSB does not cite a probable cause for the accident but says the engine and propellers are being retained for further examination.

The crash happened on July 29th.
