Carlinville, Ill. – A third death has been blamed on a house explosion this week in Carlinville, Ill.

Cody Hatlen, 15, died Thursday at a Springfield hostpial. His mother and another relative died in the blast.

Hatlen's 27-year-old brother, Tommy, is listed in good condition. Authorities are investigating the cause, though they say a natural gas leak was the likely cause.

The blast destroyed the house, moved walls in nearby buildings, and could be heard miles away.

Margaret "Sherry" Hatlen and her grandson, Michael Albracht, both were pronounced dead at the scene of the explosion.
