Washington – The Senate Ethics Committee appears to be satisfied for now with information U.S. Senate candidate Claire McCaskill reported about her family's finances.
Twice this year, the committee asked the Democrat for more details about the holdings of her husband, millionaire housing developer Joseph Shepard.
A McCaskill spokeswoman says the committee has now given the campaign the all clear.
McCaskill, the Missouri state auditor, is challenging incumbent Republican Senator Jim Talent this fall.
Republicans have tried to make an issue of Shepard's finances.
Talent's campaign claims the questions are a sign McCaskill is not being straight with voters.
McCaskill spokeswoman Adrianne Marsh says follow-up requests are routine. She accuses Talent's campaign of desperate tactics.
