St. Louis, MO – The Blues Thursday named longtime Anheuser-Busch executive Peter McLouglin to be the team's CEO.
Whereas the team's new President, John Davidson, will be in charge of hockey operations, McLoughlin will run non-hockey aspects, like sales, marketing and finance.
Both men will report to the Blues' new owner, Dave Checketts, who is leading a group of investors that just last week closed the deal with the NHL.
McLoughlin worked for the brewery for 21 years, most recently as vice president of corporate media. His official title at the Blues will be as CEO of a newly formed entity called St. Louis Blues Enterprises.
Both Davidson and McLoughlin will report directly to Checketts.
"We're already seeing the difference made by John Davidson, who as president is in charge of all player personnel," said Checketts in a statement. "We'll see the same very shortly with Peter McLoughlin as CEO of Blues Enterprises."
McLoughlin, 49, worked for NBC for more than six years before his time at Anheuser-Busch; he was a senior unit manager at NBC Sports. He graduated Harvard with an English Literature degree in 1979.
