St. Louis, MO – A new documentary that had its premiere this past weekend tells the life of former St. Louis Mayor A.J. Cervantes.

The film is called "Mr. Mayor: The Life and Times of Alfonso J. Cervantes" and is the work of the late mayor's son, A.J. Jr.

Cervantes, Jr. told to KWMUs Tom Weber that the film includes old audio tapes of the mayor that have never been broadcast. And he calls his father's story "compelling."
