St. Louis – The Lafayette Square Business Association is offering a $65,000 dollar reward for information leading to the conviction of those responsible for recent fires in three south St. Louis housing developments.
Officials say the blazes were arson, but so far have no suspect or motive.
Business Association president Pete Snyder says the community's action sends a message to those responsible for the fires.
"We're like a family," Snyder said. "We'll fight with one another like siblings, but if someone comes in from the outside, look out. We're like junkyard dogs. We're going to defend our own."
Developers are putting up most of the money, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also donated.
Anyone with information on the fires is urged to call 1-866-371-TIPS.
