St. Louis – The Riverview Gardens school board reinstated Superintendent Henry Williams Monday.
Last week that same board suspended Williams following a year of controversy in the district.
But there were only four members present at today's meeting all supporters of Williams.
Arnie Dienoff, with the group Riverview Gardens Schools Watch, says the meeting was likely a violation of Missouri's sunshine law.
But board member Jennifer Erby, who was at the meeting, says notice of it was posted Friday.
The superintendent has faced intense criticism recently over contracts the district signed with a company Williams' girlfriend works for, and the firing of a high school principal.
A state audit of the Riverview Gardens district is set to begin Tuesday.
