Police unveil new online directory for officers

By AP/KWMU

St. Louis, MO – St. Louis police have a new way to use the Internet in their jobs. A new online directory will give officers a list of more than 300 agencies on their laptops.

It will help police, for example, immediately find the nearest shelter for a victim of domestic violence. Almost all of the resources in the directory are accessible 24 hours a day.

The system can help officers dealing with substance abuse, the homeless, and youth services. The group ARCHS put together the directory with help from the University of Missouri at St. Louis.
