Kansas City, MO. – Senate candidate Claire McCaskill is calling for U.S. troops to be moved out of Iraq.

McCaskill says troops should begin redeploying troops within two years because the U-S presence is hindering Iraqis from creating their own government.

"Changing the course is essential so that our national security cannot be held hostage to Iraq's inability to make the difficult political choices and compromises necessary to form a credible government," McCaskill said.

McCaskill also says the Senate needs to create a commission to investigate private contracts and war profiteering.

The Democratic state auditor is expected to face Republican incumbent Jim Talent in the November election.

The Republican Party said in a statement that McCaskill's record on national security was weak and inconsistent.
