St. Louis – Missouri Republican Senator Kit Bond is urging two Asian nations to purchase more military fighter jets produced by Boeing in St. Louis.
Bond recently traveled to South Korea and India to pitch the F-15K and F/A-18 fighters.
There are no firm deals on the table, but Bond says India's air force is considering 126 F/A-18's.
South Korea has a current contract with Boeing for 40 F-15K's and Bond said they are looking at 20 more.
"They have budgetary problems, and I think it's more of a question of how soon they can have the dollars ready rather than whether they're interested in them," Bond said.
So far Boeing has delivered four F-15K's to South Korea. The company hopes to contract for the additional 20 planes next year.
