Oklahoma City, OK – An airplane bound for St. Louis was evacuated on Monday after someone found threatening words scrawled inside the craft's cargo hold.
The Trans States Airlines plane had not yet left the gate in Oklahoma City; passengers were still boarding when the message was found.
An airport spokeswoman would not say exactly what was written, but added the words were written in an area where only authorized personnel should have access.
The 44 passengers were removed and the plane was towed to a remote section of the airport, where the luggage and aircraft were searched.
The passengers were booked on other flights; the FBI is investigating.
Trans States operates the Oklahoma City-to-St. Louis flight for American Airlines.
