Jefferson City, MO – People giving money to a political candidate in Missouri can now give a little more.
Limits vary, depending on what office a candidate is seeking. The state Ethics Commission raises them every two years to account for inflation.
The new increase raises the limits for individual donors by $25-$75 for statewide office-seekers, state senators and state representatives. The bump for political committees was at least several hundred dollars.
Individual donors can now give $1,275 to statewide candidates; $650 to candidates for state senate; and $325 to state representatives.
Political committees, meanwhile, can now give $12,750 in statewide races, $6,400 to state senators; and $3,200 for state representatives.
