Farmington, Mo. – Two telephone pranksters pleaded guilty on Friday to measdemeanor charges of harassment for making an early-morning call to a judge.
Gabriel Wichman, of Farmington, and Ryan Fleming of Bonne Terre were sentenced to two years' probation and ordered to write lengthy reports on the consequences of making prank calls.
The sentences were handed down by Iron County Associate Circuit Judge Kelly Parker. The victim of the prank was another judge, St. Francois County Associate Circuit Judge Thomas Ray.
Police say a caller left a message on Ray's answering machine just before 3 a.m. on January 29th, 2003. Ray contacted Farmington police who traced the number to a home. The men, both in their 20s, say they were just goofing around.
