Chicago, Ill. – Illinois Senate President Emil Jones is in a Chicago hospital this morning (Tuesday).
His spokeswoman, Cindy Davidsmeyer, says Jones felt tightness in his chest while working out at his home on Monday. She says Jones decided to go in and have doctors check him out.
The 70-year-old remains hospitalized at the University of Chicago Hospitals, where doctors are conducting tests. Davidsmeyer says Jones is in good spirits but is eager to return home.
Jones was first elected to the Illinois General Assembly in 1972.
