St. Louis, MO – The St. Louis Zoo threw a birthday party on Tuesday for one of its largest residents.
Raja, the first Asian elephant born at the zoo, turned 13. Zookeepers and volunteers helped Raja celebrate by designing giant birthday cupcakes and presents for Raja.
The gifts, which he tore into, were filled with some of his favorite things: Melons, bananas, popcorn and peanuts.
Visitors also had the chance to sign a large birthday card, and everyone in attendance at one point was invited to sign "Happy Birthday."
But Raja wasn't the only animal getting presents. The zoo also gave gifts to the female elephants Ellie, Rani, Donna and Sri.
