Bull kills Franklin County farmer

St. Louis – A Franklin County farmer was killed by an aggressive bull when he went out to milk his cows on Saturday.

The sheriff's department says the 53-year-old victim, John Eckstein, was carrying a cattle shocker with him because of past problems with the bull.

Relatives called authorities Saturday morning after Eckstein had gone out to bring in cattle for milking and did not return.

Relatives found the victim, who had been killed by a bull in the field.

The sheriff's office in eastern Missouri said it's not clear exactly how the attack took place.
