St. Louis, MO – A number of area high school football teams will compete for state championships Friday and Saturday at the Edward Jones Dome.
In all, six title games are being played. Each class is determined by the school's enrollment.
Here's a rundown of area schools in the hunt for a trophy:
- Affton will try to become Class 4 champions Friday afternoon at 3:15.
- DeSmet will play Hazelwood Central in the Class 6 championship game Friday night at 7:07.
- Mary Institute-Country Day is undefeated (13-0) and will play for the Class 3 title Saturday at 3:15.
- McCluer North will try to become Class 5 champions Saturday night at 6:30.
No teams from the Metro-East advanced to this weekend's Illinois high school championships. The Illinois games are being played in Champaign.
