John McDonald's work remains in St. Louis, even if he doesn't

St. Louis, MO –

It's been more than a year since the man known as 'Superman's Doctor' left St. Louis.

John McDonald developed new treatments for people with spinal cord injury while at Washington University.

One of his patients was the late Christopher Reeve, who played the Man of Steel in movies.

McDonald has since moved to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. But other patients in St. Louis are still benefiting from his work here.

KWMUs Tom Weber prepared this report.
