Belleville, Ill. – Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich has named a retired bank executive to be a trustee for Southern Illinois University.
Marquita Wiley retired earlier this year from Bank of America. She had been a senior vice president since 1998. The Belleville resident was also once named one of the most influential black women in the country by Ebony magazine.
Wiley will replace Marilyn Jackson, who resigned from the SIU board in September.
The St. Louis American also named Wiley the St. Louis Region's Corporate Executive of the Year in 2003.
