Springfield, Ill. – Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich's office has received a subpoena, asking for personnel records from the state Corrections Department.
That means an investigation into hiring practices under Blagojevich is widening.
A spokeswoman for the governor says the subpoena delivered Wednesday asks for documents related to hiring at Corrections dating back to March 2002. That includes the final nine months of former Governor George Ryan's administration. The Corrections Department didn't receive a separate subpoena.
Spokeswoman Abby Ottenhoff says the latest subpoena is "essentially the same" as three issued last month to the governor's office, the Departments of Children and Family Services, and the Department of Transportation. Those three sought personnel documents related to hiring in those departments.
