Investigation into deputy shooting should be done soon

By AP/KWMU

Troy, Mo – An investigation into a sheriff's deputy's shooting of two men should be done in the next two weeks.

The Missouri Highway Patrol was asked to investigate the matter by Lincoln County's Sheriff.

On October 23, a deputy tried to stop a pick-up truck for speeding near Troy, Mo. The pickup allegedly tried to elude the officer by pulling into a subdivision and stopping on a driveway.

The deputy then pulled up behind the pickup and fired shots when it moved backward toward him.

Relatives of the two who died, though, say the driver simply failed to engage the truck's parking brake.

The name of the deputy has not been released. Tyler Teasley and Michael Brown, Jr. died in the incident.
