Jefferson City, Mo. – The legal challenge has long been resolved to Missouri's concealed guns law. But attorneys are continuing to spar over who will pay their bills.
The Supreme Court last year upheld the law allowing most adults to obtain concealed weapons permits but cited a constitutional flaw in its funding mechanism.
Lawmakers attempted to fix that earlier this year by passing additional legislation.
But Wednesday, attorneys for the plaintiffs who challenged the law filed a motion seeking to have their costs and fees paid by the state.
That comes a week after the resolution of efforts to recoup costs by gun shop and shooting range owners who intervened in the lawsuit. They dropped their motion in court, but details of any outside agreement were not disclosed.
