St. Louis, MO. – Senator Kit Bond continues to seek support for updates of the locks system on the upper Mississippi and Illinois rivers.
The Republican spoke to the Midwest Area River Coalition 2000 at the group's annual meeting at the Hilton Airport Hotel today.
Bond supports passage of the multi-billion dollar Water Resources Development Act.
He says it will modernize the Missouri and Illinois lock and dam system. He also says aspects of it allow for improvements in Louisiana.
