Florissant police find abducted teen on roof of building

By AP/KWMU

Florissant, MO – Police rescued a teenage girl off a building's roof early Thursday, after she had been abducted and raped.

Florissant police say the girl was abducted Wednesday night as she closed the Cold Stone Creamery shop in Florissant. The suspect - who has been arrested - works for a custodial service that cleans the shop.

Police said the teen managed to call 911 on her cell phone and described her attacker and surroundings.

Police Chief William Karabus said the girl was abducted around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night. He says the suspect forced the victim into a van.

Police found the attacker trying to hide with the victim on the roof in Creve Coeur.

A spokeswoman for Cold Stone Creamery says workers' thoughts and prayers are with the young woman and her family.
