East St. Louis, Ill. – Minority contractors and Illinois transportation officials signed their agreement Tuesday that aims to produce more jobs for black contractors and minorities in the Metro-East.

The document was hammered out in two previous meeting held after the contractors threatened to shut down I-64.

I-DOT says it will provide at least $2 million over five years for a construction training program in East St. Louis.

I-DOT officials, the Metro East Black Contractors Organization and the Missouri Kansas Construction Contractors Assistance Center signed the agreement.
