Collinsville, Ill. – The former mayor of Collinsville, Ill. died Sunday. Fred Dalton was 80.
The flag at Collinsville City Hall will fly at half-staff today (Tuesday) in Dalton's honor.
Dalton was first elected to office in 1971. He also served 16 years on the Madison County Board and was Collinsville's mayor from 1991 to 1995. Most recently he was a city councilman.
Dalton died of pneumonia Sunday. Services are scheduled Thursday at First Baptist Church in Collinsville with burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Glen Carbon.
