Missouri – Fireworks can now be legally bought in Missouri, as it's now two weeks before the Fourth of July.
Anyone older than 13 - or those younger than 14 who are accompanied by a parent or guardian - could buy what's known as "common fireworks," starting Monday. Common fireworkds includ Roman candles, sparklers and rockets. Sales can continue until July tenth.
Most fireworks sellers diplay their inventory in large tents in the few weeks prior to Independence Day. Tents must pass an inspection by county safety officials and be granted permits to operate.
Typically, a fireworks business offers an assortment of a few hundred fireworks. One seller in Springfield said it's becoming increasingly popular to package fireworks in groups; one two-foot-high variety pack costs about $300.
