St. Louis, MO. – The city of St. Louis and the city school district Tuesday announced the start of their summer meal program for nutritionally at-risk children.
Now in its 29th year, the "School's Out Caf " program is free for all children aged one to 18.
There are 87 sites throughout the city where children can receive breakfast and lunch, including churches and day cares. St. Louis schools superintendent Craig Williams.
"We have locations both in schools and out of schools where young people can come and have lunch and have breakfast," Williams said. "We're serving over 16-thousand young people a day and we anticipate serving that amount and hopefully more this summer."
The summer meal program runs until September 2nd.
