Jefferson City, MO. – A coalition of school districts suing the state of Missouri over school funding have decided the case will continue.
The announcement today comes despite lawmakers' approval of a new funding plan last month.
The group of districts, called the Committee for Educational Equality, met over the weekend and agreed to press on.
The lawsuit claims the current formula does not provide schools enough money and distributes the existing money unfairly. That formula would remain partly in effect until the 2012-13 school year.
Their attorney, Alex Bartlett, says he plans to amend the lawsuit to add concerns with the new spending plan.
