Lee's Summit, MO – A man in the Kansas City area who's charged with shooting a state trooper nine times this weekend says he's sorry. Tommy Rollins also says he was temporarily insane when he did it.
He's accused of shooting Brandon Brashear during a traffic stop in Lee's Summit. Brashear is in serious condition.
The incident happened Saturday after Brashear pulled over Rollins, of Grandview.
Brashear has been on the force for about two years.
Rollins has been charged with first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer and armed criminal action. He made a special court appearance Sunday in Kansas City on his 26th birthday. His next court date is June 20th.
