Springfield, Ill. – Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich reversed course on Thursday and canceled a contract with a company that was accused of submitting improper expenses.

The governor now calls it "inexcusable" for the company Illinois Property Asset Management to have billed taxpayers for items like candy, an ice bucket, liquor, and parking at a Chicago Bulls game.

Earlier this week, Blagojevich said the questionable amount - about $31,000 - had to be weighed against the millions the company helped the state save through more efficient use of office space.

The questionable expenses were one part of a state audit that found serious mismanagement at the governor's procurement agency, called the Department of Central Management Services (CMS).
