Fairview Heights, Ill. – A church in the Metro East is trying to raise about $25,000 it needs to bring an injured pastor back to the U.S.

Rev. Ralph Phillippe, of Fairview Heights, fell from a 12-foot ladder last month while fixing the roof of a church in Honduras. He suffered broken bones and brain injuries, and is in a coma at a hospital there.

Another pastor at the Christ United Methodist Church says Phillippe's health insurance won't cover the cost for a medical air evacuation.

Rev. Shane Bishop says Phillippe has always tried to help people, and he hopes the church can help bring him to an area hospital soon.
