BELLEFONTAINE NEIGHBORS, Mo. – There was another walkout this morning (Friday) at Riverview Gardens High School in north St. Louis County. But this one was brief.
About 100 students walked out. It's the third straight day of protests over the firing of principal Clem Ukaoma. The students, though, soon returned to class.
A meeting is planned for tonight (Friday) between the school district, parents and students to discuss the firing.
The students and many parents are upset the school board did not renew Ukaoma's contract. District officials would not say specifically why he was let go, only that he did not meet expectations. School officials are concerned about test scores.
