St. Louis – Lambert Airport's new director says the facility is unlikely to become the bustling airline hub it used to be.
St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay introduced Kevin Dolliole at a news conference Wednesday.
Dolliole said he wants to focus on filling the void left when American Airlines cut its schedule by half nearly 18 months ago.
"I think it's going to be very critical coming in to first of all control expectations," Dolliole said. "I can't promise, and I don't want to leave anyone with the impression that we're here to overnight rebuild a mega hub. That's just not going to happen."
Dolliole comes to St. Louis from San Antonio, where he's the city's aviation director. He also worked at New Orleans International Airport.
Dolliole will earn $165,000 a year. He replaces Leonard Griggs, who retired in December. He will take over the post May 2.
