Jefferson City, Mo. – Legislators have delivered Governor Matt Blunt the two pillars of his pro-business agenda.
The General Assembly today passed bills limiting injury claims in the state's courts and workers' compensation system.
Business groups reveled in the victory. It's the culmination of a three-year effort opposed by Democratic Governor Bob Holden but now embraced by Missouri's new Republican governor.
But labor unions and plaintiffs attorneys predict injured Missourians will have a harder time getting money from those responsible for their injuries.
Wednesday's votes send the bills to Blunt. His signature will make them law.
