St. Louis, MO – Humane Society officials say they have reached a milestone in St. Louis.
They say that more than a quarter of million dogs and cats have been spayed and neutered by the agency. Partly as a result, the Humane Society of Missouri says it's seen a 26% decline in the number of dogs and cats brought to the shelter over the past five years.
The agency is kicking off a new fundraising campaign to help expand low-cost spaying and neutering programs. One effort includes a green "Fix 'em" wristband that people can buy for $5.
