St. Louis, MO. – Organizers of Mardi Gras festivities in the Soulard neighborhood are expecting a very large crowd for the annual parade and party tomorrow.
The annual Mardi Gras celebration has become one of the largest in the country.
Spokesman Mack Bradley says a forecast of warm weather means that several hundred-thousand people could show up for an event that has grown very popular.
"First of all it's St. Louis in wintertime, so everybody's ready for a great party," Bradley said. "And, St. Louis has a, and Soulard in particular, has a French heritage to it. This is the logical place for a party like this to spring up."
Bradley says there will be more than 100 units in the parade, which begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at 7th and Chouteau downtown and moves east and south to Soulard.
