St. Louis, MO. – The company that owns the St. Louis Post-Dispatch saw a drop in fourth-quarter earnings.
Pulitzer Incorporated says it earned $13.7 million during the quarter compared to earnings of $14.3 million a year earlier.
The company said in November it's considering a possible sale or other options to boost the value to shareholders.
Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reports federal officials are investigating plans by Gannett Company and the New York Times to buy or invest in local rivals.
Gannett owns Channel 5 in St. Louis and has been named a possible buyer of Pulitzer.
