Jefferson City, Mo. – Missouri State highway commissioners have approved spending nearly $160 million on 57 road projects. Of that, $32 million is earmarked for the St. Louis area.
The move comes after voters in November approved a state constitutional amendment that directs more existing tax revenues to the highway department instead of general state coffers.
The list of projects approved Friday is just the first phase. More are to be approved during the commission's January meeting.
