East St. Louis, Ill. – A federal judge says Katie Wolfmeyer's father approached witnesses during his daughter's trial and made comments they took as threats.
Florissant resident Katie Wolfmeyer is accused of conspiring with former St. Louis Blues player Mike Danton in his murder-for-hire plot to kill Danton's agent. No one was injured.
Judge William Stiehl said Tuesday that 51-year-old Patrick Wolfmeyer made comments to two FBI agents and a member of the Columbia, Ill., police department Thursday at the East St. Louis federal courthouse.
Stiehl said he'd already warned Patrick Wolfmeyer once earlier that week for similar behavior.
Stiehl ordered friends and family of 19-year-old Katie Wolfmeyer to have no contact with witnesses.
Patrick Wolfmeyer and prosecutor Stephen Clark declined comment.
