St. Louis – Charges have been filed against a north St. Louis County man accused of taking a 2-year-old girl from her home and sexually assaulting her.
The suspect is 42-year-old Darren Lindley, who faces charges of forcible rape, sodomy, assault, child molestation and tampering with evidence.
The girl has been hospitalized in stable condition following surgery.
Police arrested Lindley Monday, when he surrendered following a two-hour standoff at his home.
The girl's father discovered his daughter missing from her bed early yesterday morning.
The father had socialized with the suspect the night before. The father then went to the suspect's home and found his daughter crying and bleeding.
Lindley is being held without bond.
