Chicago, Ill. – Illinois State Senator Kirk Dillard is reportedly taking a pass on a run for the U.S. Senate.
The Chicago Tribune reports today (Thursday) that Dillard does not want to run against Democrat Barack Obama because it would take him away from his family. He's married with two young daughters.
Dillard was the latest in a list of Republicans who passed on the chance to run for Senate ever since Jack Ryan left the race almost a month ago.
Also rejecting a run include state Senator Steve Rauschenberger, who lost to Ryan in the March primary, and former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka
